FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
the article looks at human trafficking and the misunderstanding that "there’s sometimes a tendency to think that the problem just exists overseas" and insists
"we also have significant problems in the United States" (NYT)
they then proceed to say that this problem perseveres "particularly among home-grown young teenagers" (NYT)
the article also states that instead of criticizing other countries we should look in our own neighborhoods because "we don’t have the credibility to address the problems abroad unless we clean up our act at home." ( NYT)
they noted that even some skeptics have admitted to "voluntary prostitution." (NYT)

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

in the article "human trafficking in the us" by nicholas kristof the author writes about his past experiences and writing about human trafficking throughout his career as a journalist for the NYT. In most of the quotes cited above he talks about the negative impact thinking that our country is immune from human traffick has on our society today.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

Nicholas kristof is a journalist and op- ed columnist  as well as winner for two puiizer prizes.
He studied at harvard and graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa at harvard

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

this author is simply informing us about the issues in the world today wit human traffic.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?
no, there is none.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?
yes, the author cites Rachel Lloyd's compelling new memoir " girls like us"  which definitelyy adds to his credibility

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

i plan to use this source throughout my persuasive essay and speech. There is too many people out there who are misunderstanding the locatin of most crimes because they are put under a "far away" ideal of crimes by the local news and my essay will concentrate on exposing the issues brought by human traffick.
